Memory?
The Island of Memories is about just that. Memories. Memories of those we love and care for who are no longer on this plane but still with us in the grand scheme of things.
Who is eligible for a memorial here on La Isla de Memorias?
Members: Anyone who is a member of The Pleasure Dome 2 at the time of their death is eligible for a Members Memorial of one page of up to 1 megabyte in size at no cost for the duration of this web site's existence. Additional space as well as pages may be obtained at a price of £1 or $2 U.S. per year for each additional megabyte or part thereof; in both cases payable two years in advance.
Non-Members: Memorials for Non-Members may be created at a price of £2 or $4 U.S for the first megabyte, or part thereof, and £1.5 or $3 U.S. for each additional megabyte or part thereof.
How are memorials created?
Basic 1 Mb or smaller Memorials will be created by Dome Web Multimedia Authoring Students as class assignments at no charge to the family or friends of the person being memorialized. (Larger memorials will be charged a fee of £5 or $10 U.S. per additional Mb and/or page)
Web Page formats, styles, colors and music must be chosen from the 'Samples' section of La Isla (via left side bar menu).
Text and pictures must be provided and can be uploaded as attachments in the Forums of The Dome. Text must be in WordPad/RTF format and images must be in either .GIF or .JPG format.
If you do not have access to a digital camera or scanner to produce your images, then you may mail them in to The Dome and they will be scanned, enhanced and compressed for use at a fee of £1 or $2 U.S. each. Photos cannot be returned so make sure you have copies.
Who benefits from these revenues?
All proceeds go directly to the Dome which is a non-profit co-op chartered in the U.K
